The rooter machine, or drain snake, was invented in 1933 by Samuel Blanc using the motor from a washing machine and roller skate wheels. The concept was simple and still used to this day, a rotating cable with special blades attached to the end for cutting roots in sewer lines. This machines allows plumbers to clear drains in a quick amount of time.
